Day 1. Nairobi
Upon arrival in Nairobi we will meet you and transfer you to your boutique hotel in the Kilimani area of Nairobi. Palacina hotel features 14 Luxury suites, each over 140 square metres in size and each with its own living room, en-suite bathroom, dresser and a private furnished balcony. Decorated in calming natural colour tones, teak woods and crisp cottons, the suites are luxuriously appointed and meticulously planned to include state-of-the-art facilities with a warm atmosphere synonymous to Palacina. Day 2. Shaba National Reserve
Transfer to Wilson Airport for scheduled flight to Shaba National Reserve. On arrival you will meet your guide at the airstrip and drive to your camp. Lunch in the camp followed by some free time to settle in. An elegant oasis in the arid land of Samburu; Joy’s Camp is built on the site of Joy Adamson’s tented home in Shaba national reserve. The site was also home to Penny the leopard, the heroine of her last book. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephants and lions jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and the rare desert species of Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Day 3. Shaba National Reserve
Morning and afternoon game drives in Shaba.
The eastern corner of the Samburu eco-system, Shaba is a secluded idyll, an arid landscape dotted with lush springs and rocky river gorges. Joy’s Camp is the perfect choice for discerning guests interested in a glimpse of Kenyan history, as well as those looking for an authentic wildlife experience combined with the comfort of a luxury-tented camp. On this day we focus our game tracking activities on the Lion, resident and thriving here. Dinner and overnight at Joys Camp. FB
Day 4. Maasai Mara
Breakfast at the camp and bid your friends kwaheri (bye bye). You will be transferred to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your camp. Lunch in the camp. Evening game drive in the reserve.
Dinner and overnight at SARUNI MARA. FB
Day 5. Maasai Mara.
Maasai Mara is world famous for its black-maned lions, cheetah families and the ever elusive leopard. Saruni offers the thrill of a real adventure coupled with high standards of style and comfort. It has 6 large elegant cottages with en-suite facilities. Each has a veranda with a hammock and a sun bed, and is furnished with colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art. The camp also has a well being spa and soft drinks, beer & house wines are included in the package. Dinner and overnight at SARUNI MARA. FB
Day 6. Maasai Mara.
Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to spot the Big cats of this wild paradise. On this day there is also a opportunity to enjoy a hot air balloon safari over the world’s most sough-after game reserve. All meals and overnight at SARUNI MARA. FB
Day 7. Depart.
Breakfast in the camp then transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival we will meet you and take you to the Carnivore restaurant for a farewell BBQ lunch followed by a short city tour on Nairobi with shopping. Later on transfer to Jomo Kenyatta international airport for your home-bound flight.
